What To Know Before Coming In
If you’ve climbed before and you’re over 16 you are free to drop in for a climbing session anytime we’re open.
On your first visit, you’ll need to complete a registration form and answer a few bouldering safety questions. These questions are not designed to trick anyone, they are just there to ensure your safety, and that of the other climbers around you.
You do not need to book to boulder, just turn up and pay for single-entry. If you find yourself becoming part of the furniture, why not take a look at our membership options!
If you haven’t been to our centre before you can save time before you visit by registering online.
Anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult who has completed an induction with us or provided evidence of their competency.
Under 18’s will need their registration form filled out by a parent or guardian.

What we offer
200 + Bouldering problems
At The Climbing Experience, you can test your climbing skills on over 200 bouldering problems, offering everyone from beginners to elite climbers something to get to grips with. We reset a section of our walls every week, so you’ll never get bored climbing with us! Check out our routesetting page to find out when your project’s about to come down.
All of our problems follow colour circuits that mark there difficulty and are graded using the Font grading system. Don’t worry if you’re used to V (Hueco) grades, you’ll find handy conversion charts dotted around the place.
From private lessons to NIBAS courses, our instructor’s are passionate about helping people reach their climbing potential.
If you’ve hit a plateau, or feel you could improve with the help of a coach, we’re here to help you get the most from our centre.
We’re more than just climbing!
Aside from our quality coaching, exciting bouldering problems, and great facilities, The Climbing Experience is a social hub. We host regular socials and events, from our popular women’s social to hosting guest climbing workshops.

Whether you’re looking for a coffee to fuel your climbing, a beer to celebrate afterwards, or one of our delicious stone-baked sourdough pizzas if you’ve really worked up an appetite, our cafe is here for everyone.
